Since the announcements of the Toronto Food Truck Alley and the new King West Eats lot earlier this month, the food truck scene in the city has been buzzing.
Both spots have been seeing droves of hungry lunch time crowds line-up for a chance to grab a bite with many trucks selling out each day.
These food truck ‘hubs’ are exactly what Toronto needs to show the city that food trucks can work within the 50 meter limits from restaurants. The Star recently referred to these spots as ‘part of the city’s plan’, but frankly that’s a bit of a stretch considering they’re the ones who voted for the current restrictions.
Rather, the development of these spots are spearheaded by food truck owners who have taken successful concepts from other cities like Hamilton’s Food Truck Alley and brought them into Toronto as a chance to show the city that neighbourhoods can thrive with the inclusion of gourmet food trucks.
Hopefully these two spots are just the start to more of these designated lots to pop-up in the city. Find out more in this article as The Star breaks down how the truck owners feel about the new food truck hubs and the current regulations.
