If there’s one thing the Food Dudes have experience with, it’s how to throw a party.
Last night they debuted their new gourmet food truck to a hungry crowd of guests and media at 99 Sudbury.
In addition to some exciting and tasty street food from their new menu, the party also included such attractions as a food truck ice sculpture, a body paint model, a giant Twister game, a giant Connect Four game, a live graffiti artist, a (real) tattoo station, and beverage offerings from Creemore Springs, Tromba Tequila and Stolichnaya Vodka.
In other words, subtle is not how these guys roll.
Nevertheless, the food was abundant and everyone we talked to – including ourselves – thought it was delicious.
They broke their menu down into three categories:
- Snacks
- Mac and cheese arancini
- Bone marrow toast with onion relish
- Boxes
- Watermelon salad with goats cheese tempura
- Bangkok slaw with triple seared steak and crispy calamari
- Sambos
- Veal meatball on a basil bun
- Captain Crunch cod taco
- 24 hour braised beef brisket on a green onion biscuit
In addition to their food truck menu, they also served some items from their catering menu including smoked chicken quesadillas, beer battered shrimp, mini grilled cheese sandwiches, chicken wings and mini ice cream sandwiches.
Keep an eye out for their truck hitting the streets as early as next week.
