It was a wet and muddy affair at Fort York Garrison Commons on Saturday afternoon for AwesTRUCK 2013, but that didn’t stop over 50 food trucks from making the trip over to celebrate the growth of the street food scene that the province has seen this year.

A steady stream of poncho wearers and umbrella bearers came through the gates of Fort York ready to chow down on the array of gourmet food options that the trucks had to offer. It was clear that no amount of rain was going to stop the the diehard food truck lovers from missing out on this event. Once again this year, AwesTRUCK held a food truck award ceremony to acknowledge some of Ontario’s best food trucks and handed out seven awards based on public voting between August 16 and September 16.

Congratulations to all the well deserved winners at AwesTRUCK 2013 and I for one am already excited to see what’s in store for next year’s event. Knowing the gang from Food Truck Eats, they’ll be aiming to make it even bigger and better.
