Jonny BlondeAs the saying goes “the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach” and what better way to show your Pops that you care this Father’s Day weekend than to treat him to some gourmet truck fare. Now that some consistent good weather is upon us there are many events to choose from, here are a few food truck events you can plan to bring your old man to this weekend.

King City Beer & Food Truck Festival on June 14:
Trucks will be making their way up to King City this Saturday to be a part of what promises to be York Region’s next big event at Memorial Park. The festival will be hosting 9 trucks for the event including perennial favourites Gourmet Gringos and Blue Donkey Streatery as well as newer trucks like Wickedly Sinful and Tutti Panini. Advanced Tickets are available for $10 online, or you can purchase tickets at the gate for $15 on Friday. You can learn more at the King City Craft Beer & Food Truck Festival website.

Springridge Farms on June 14-15:
The popular Milton farm hosts their first ever Food Truck Festival over Father’s Day Weekend from 11AM-3PM each day. They have invited 10 food trucks, many from the Hamilton area to join in on the weekend festivities including Nudulz Truck, Karma ChaMEALeon and The Salted Pig. Visit the Springridge Farm website for more details.

Father’s Day Brew & BBQ at Junction Craft Brewery on June 15:
Toronto’s own, Junction Craft Brewery will be collaborating with Hogtown Smoke on Sunday to host their Father’s Day Brew & BBQ Event from 12PM-6PM. Attendees of the event will each receive a choice of BBQ sandwich and fries from Hogtown Smoke and four 5oz. samples of Junction’s small batch brews. Tickets aren’t super cheap at the price of $25, but how considering how much your dad has shelled out for you over the years, I’m sure you can bite the bullet for his day. You can purchase your tickets for the event on Eventbrite.

Other events with trucks to look forward to this weekend:

Sound of Music Festival in Burlington on June 12-15:
Although technically not a food truck event, this massive 4-day music festival in Spencer Smith Park in Burlington boasts a great line-up that includes artists like The Sheepdogs, Sloan and Gord Downie and numerous food trucks favourites including Gorilla Cheese, Tony’s Corner and Jonny Blonde to feed the hungry masses over the four days. For more info, check out the Sound of Music website.

Halal Food Festival on June 14-15:
This two-day food festival will be showcasing delicious Halal foods with vendors from various halal restaurants and shops from across the city. They have invited Busters Sea Cove, Beavertails and Pretty Sweet to the event at the International Centre in Mississauga to share their delicious truck eats throughout the weekend.
