With the recently loosened food truck rules in the city, Mayor John Tory has proclaimed that tomorrow will be Food Truck Freedom Day. To celebrate, a number of Toronto’s gourmet food trucks will be coming out for a food truck lunch service next door to City Hall at Nathan Phillips Square.
Between 11AM and 2PM on Wednesday May 13th, you will be able to find six food trucks set up and serving up gourmet street eats in the Square.
A diverse selection of food trucks are expected to be in attendance during the lunch including Caplansky’s Deli Truck, Fidel Gastros, Rome’N Chariot, Curbalicious, Randy’s Roti and ME.N.U Food Truck.
Word on the grapevine (aka. Twitter) even has Councillor Cesar Palacio coming out to support the trucks by making a special appearance on Fidel Gastros to dish out a few sandwiches during the service. So if you have some time to step away for lunch tomorrow, Nathan Phillips Square is where you’ll want to be.
