The Toasted Tangerine Pops-Up at Jarvis and Queen

By on February 21, 2012

The Toasted Tangerine tested out a new location at Javis and Queen today.

Other than the Food Truck Eats events, this was the first time the Mississauga based truck has set up in downtown Toronto to serve the public.

Located in the parking lot on the south-west corner of the intersection, the large purple truck was impossible to miss. Not used to seeing colourfully wrapped and branded gourmet food trucks, numerous curious pedestrians and drivers could be seen slowing down to stare.

On the menu today was Smokey Tomato Bacon soup with Grilled Cheese ($8), Toasted Spinach & Ricotta Ravioli($6), BBQ Pulled Chicken Sliders ($7), Korean Beef Bombs ($5) and Banana Split Brownies ($3).

While some customers knew about the location via social media, many office workers and Ryerson students seemed pleasantly surprised to stumble across the truck while out on their lunch hour.

Today was a test run for what could turn into repeat visits to the location.
